Ban military-style weapons; plus universal background checks
[In the wake of a deadly school shooting, gun control was discussed in the 9-person debate:
"This is a simple question to me," he said. Johnston said he's been a gun owner his whole life, and prior to the Parkland shooting, he introduced a plan that
would ban military-style weapons, require universal background checks, make sure those who are a danger to themselves or others don't have access to guns & ban bump stocks. The plan, he said, fits in with the Second Amendment but also provides solutions.

Supports common sense gun restrictions
He will continue his fight for common sense restrictions on gun ownership to keep weapons out of the hands of criminals.
Mike fought for a ban on high-capacity magazines and to extend background checks to all gun purchases.
