Veteran Set-Aside: partner with businesses to employ vets

I will fight to protect our Joint Base at McGuire and Fort Dix, for expanded light rail in South Jersey, and to strengthen our vital Delaware River and Bay Port and the transportation infrastructure to sustain it.

It is our duty to protect the men and women who have served in our nation's Armed Forces. Veterans lead the country in unemployment, despite years of experience and the best training our military has to offer. I have fought in NJ to give our veterans the support they need at home. My Veteran Set-Aside initiative enables local governments to partner with businesses owned by and employing veterans, providing much-needed job opportunities for these skilled workers.

We should not be putting up barriers to veterans' education. The NJ TEAM Act will provide in-state tuition rates for all veterans attending school in NJ, regardless of their residency. I support House Resolution 357, the G.I. Bill Tuition Fairness Act, which enacts in-state tuition rates for veterans across the country.

Israel shares with US self-determination & religious freedom

Israel is our strongest ally in a region that is both strategically significant and increasingly unstable.

Israel proudly shares our American values of freedom and equality and is the only liberal democracy in the Middle East.

Historically the Jewish and American peoples have been linked by a shared desire to exercise self-determination and religious freedom and to live in peace with their neighbors.

It is imperative that the US continue to strongly support Israel's right to exist, prosper, and defend itself from threats.

I have long been a supporter of the local efforts of Jewish Americans to strengthen our communities and raise awareness of America's special relationship with the State of Israel.

My mission to Israel in March of 2014 with the NJ State Association of Jewish Federations reaffirmed and strengthened these core beliefs.
