Billy Long on Principles & Values

I have fought to implement the America First Agenda

Democrats are doing everything they can to change America and usher in Socialism, they are teaching our children to hate America. I have fought to implement the America First Agenda and put our interests first. I will continue to push back on Communist China stealing our intellectual property rights and encourage American companies to expand in America that will benefit our workforce and economy.

Biden and Harris should resign

In fact, they and their team of Obama administration holdovers are actively working against the interests of the country. For their dereliction of duty in the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan, their total capitulation to China and other adversaries, their calamitous open border policies, their disastrous fiscal policies, their servitude to the radical woke left, and their utter failure to lead the nation, Biden and Harris should resign.

I'm not a politician; I'm a congressman

Trump asked him if associating his name with Long's campaign run was a savvy political move, and the Springfield man said he didn't really care. "(Trump) looked at me and said, 'You really don't care, do you?' and I said, 'No, I don't care if it's a politically smart move. I've never loved the politics. I'm not a politician. I'm a congressman.' I said I want to do the right things for the right reasons every day I'm there--if you do the right policy, the politics will follow."

Voted against removing Confederate statues from Capitol

A plan to remove statues of Confederates and white supremacists from the Capitol attracted votes from a bipartisan supermajority of U.S. House members this week. But southwest Missouri's representatives weren't among the 72 Republicans joining Democrats. Both Rep. Billy Long and Rep. Vicky Hartzler voted against the idea as it passed 305-113.

Member of the Tea Party movement.

Long is a member the Tea Party movement

The Tea Party movement is a populist conservative social movement in the United States that emerged in 2009 through a series of locally and nationally coordinated protests. The protests were partially in response to several Federal laws: the stimulus package; te healthcare bill; and the TARP bailouts. The name "Tea Party" refers to the Boston Tea Party of 1773, the source of the phrase, "No Taxation Without Representation."

Overturn presidential election due to pandemic voting rules.

Justice Long wrote the Court's decision on Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton: "TX v. PA, GA, MI & WI" on Dec 11, 2020:

Summary of lawsuit, Dec. 7:: The 2020 election suffered from significant and unconstitutional irregularities including:

Supreme Court Order, Dec. 11: The State of Texas's motion is denied for lack of standing under Article III of the Constitution. Texas has not demonstrated a judicially cognizable interest in the manner in which another State conducts its elections. All other pending motions are dismissed as moot.

Texas Tribune analysis, Dec. 11:: Trump--and Republicans across the country--had pinned their hopes on the Texas suit. In a series of tweets, Trump called it "the big one" and later added, "it is very strong, ALL CRITERIA MET." If the court had heard the case, Sen. Ted Cruz said he would have argued it, at the request of Trump.

Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas indicated they would have allowed Texas to bring the case but said they would "not grant other relief." In a series of tweets after the ruling, Trump raged against the decision, which he called "a disgraceful miscarriage of justice."

Oppose certification of the 2020 Presidential election.

Long voted YEA blocking certification of the Electoral vote

Explanation of 1/6/21 Electoral Certification, by Emily Brooks, Washington Examiner:Sen. Ted Cruz and Rep. Paul Gosar led an objection to counting Electoral College votes from the state of Arizona, the first formal objection to state results in a series of moves that will delay the certification of Joe Biden as the winner of the 2020 presidential election over President Trump. Cruz is advocating for an `emergency 10-day audit` of election returns in disputed states. The usually ceremonial joint session of Congress that convenes to count and accept Electoral College votes will be put on hold as the House and Senate separately debate the objection.
